P1S Guide🔗

Warning

P1S printers are TA-operated only.

P1S operates in LAN mode; pre‑configured profiles can be downloaded from Overview.

1. Powering On🔗

The power button is on the rear right side of the printer.

2. Loading Filament🔗

AMS🔗

Place a spool in an empty slot and push filament through; the AMS loads/unloads automatically.

Info

If all AMS slots are full, move unused spools to the dry cabinet.

Note

When closing the AMS lid, gentally push down to ensured the AMS lid is fully closed to seal against humidity.
It's recommended to use the two locking tabs on the left and right to ensure the lid it closed properly.

Enable Auto‑Refill by selecting identical brand, material, and color in OrcaSlicer.

External Spool🔗

The AMS accepts only 1 kg rigid non‑cardboard spools. Cardboard, TPU, or other sizes must be loaded externally:

  • With a splitter installed: feed filament through it into the print head.

  • Without a splitter: remove the PTFE coupler and feed directly into the print head.

3. Preparing the Build Plate🔗

Remove any remnants from previous prints.
P1S plates are dual‑sided and textured; avoid touching the surface to prevent oil buildup.

If printing the full build plate, full build plate printer profile with a blocker is needed.

4. Sending print file🔗

Warning

Printer is networked, send files using OrcaSlicer, do not use the SD card. In case the SD card must be removed, the printer must be shut off first.
If the print does not start and gets cancelled, the print isn't registered on the TTDA system and it's cancelled by the management system.

Install the OrcaSlicer network plug‑in and ensure the host PC is connected to the same local network as the printer; otherwise the slicer cannot establish a connection.

Once the plugin is installed, simply click Print plate to start the print on the printer.

Note

If printing from AMS, check Enable AMS, Bed levelling is recommended, but can be skipped if printing directly after a successful print.
Timelapse should always be turned off.
AMS slots are labelled from left to right, A1 to A4.
If printing with PLA, the minimum waste printer profile can be used to avoid wasting unnessecary filament.

At the start of the print, the printer will do a calibration, during this step, do not touch the printer.
If OrcaSlicer crashes while uploading a job, it’s likely due to too many concurrent connections. Each OrcaSlicer window opens a new connection, but the P1S can only support a limited number. Close all running instances, launch a single OrcaSlicer session, and verify the printer is listed under Device before sending the print.

5. First Layer and Adhesion🔗

A successful first layer is crucial. Address any issues immediately to prevent failed prints.

Build Plate Cleaning🔗

Most unsuccessful prints are caused by a contaminated dirty build plate.

  • Soap and Water
    The most effective method. Remove the build plate, then rinse and dry thoroughly before reinstalling.

  • Isopropyl Alcohol
    Useful for quick cleans, but it can leave behind residue if not wiped off before evaporation.

  • Glue or Tape
    While easy and effetive, it's not recommended. These add thickness that can interfere with print quality.

Z-height🔗

P1S lacks live z‑adjustment. Choose Textured PEI Plate for a lower start or Smooth High Temp Plate if adhesion is too strong. Bed leveling should set the correct z‑height; persistent incorrect z-height indicate hardware issues that must be reported.

6. Periodic Monitoring🔗

Check your print periodically—especially longer prints. While most failures occur in the first layer, issues like tangled filament or poor support placement often arise later.

For networked printer, print can be viewed live online.

7. Print Removal and Cleanup🔗

  • After the print finishes, remove the build plate and flex it to remove the print.
  • The printer will automatically unload the filament. Filaments can be left in the AMS or moved to the dry cabinet for long term storage.
  • Cleanup the machine and workspace after usage.
