Saturn 4 Ultra Guide🔗
Warning
Resin printers are TA-operated only.
The S4U features a firmware‑controlled tilting vat that streamlines slicing. Pre-configured profiles can be downloaded from here.
1. Powering On🔗
- The power button and USB port are on the right side, near the back.
- After boot, the printer performs a self‑test; do not touch the machine during this period.
2. Resin Preparation🔗
- Shake the bottle to ensure resin is homogeneous.
- Flip the lid up and pour slowly into the vat, stopping at the maximum line.
- Inspect for debris; remove any with a plastic scraper.
Note
Keep the lid open as little as possible to prevent dust from entering the printer and to keep the fumes in the printer.
Info
You can also pour the resin on the edge of the build and have the resin drip down into the vat, this will allow you to more easily identify any debris in the resin.
3. Starting a Print🔗
- Send files over the local network via ChituManager or SateLite, or load
goo
orctb
‑formatted files from a USB drive. - When queued to internal storage (or after USB transfer), press Print on the touchscreen and select the file.
Note
Keep the screen clean; touch only with resin‑free, dry hands.
4. Monitoring🔗
Because of the tilting vat, print release is rarely problematic.
If tearing or splitting occurs, reduce the tilt speed from Fast to Slow.
The first few layers are submerged; listen for the sound of release‑film realeasing (example).
Another method is to Pause the print to lift the build plate out of resin and inspect adhesion.
As the print rises above the resin, periodically check in to visually check for missing sections.
Info
During extended prints, replenish resin as needed.
Best practice: pause the print before adding more resin.
5. Removing the Build Plate🔗
- Allow excess resin to drip off for a few minutes before removal.
- Pull the lever to disengage the platform from the Z‑axis, then slide it forward.
Info
Attach the plastic drip tray if you want extra protection against drips.
6. Post Processing🔗
Follow the standard post processing steps
To remove the vat, unscrew the 2 thumb screws holding down the vat.
7. Shutdown🔗
- Tighten the vat with a thumb‑tight grip
- Place any vat cover if present.
- Flip the machine’s power switch to off.
8. Closing shop🔗
- Close the extraction flap and turn off all extraction systems and lights.
- Lock doors before leaving.
Note
If there are laser TAs remain on shift, simply close the printer exhaust flap; hand over closing duties to them.
